Richard Burr – food nazi
It seems that a week can’t pass without another power grap from the statists in washington.
Now here comes s. 510,the so-called “food safety modernization act”.
This bureaucratic “bi-partisan” monstrosity empowers an expanded FDA, (almost 4000 new bureaucrats in 2010 alone and an 1 billion increased fda budget),to further drive up the cost of food and to limit choices from the free market.
This new law will place further burdens on independent family farms while big corporatist agriculture will use their connections to largely escape scrutiny. It is a direct assault on the free market, punishing local providers who are working to provide diversity and expanded consumer choice. Just a bit of language from the bill to illustrate: the term “credible evidence” will be replaced in the code with “reasonable probability” giving the FDA the power to invade, quarantine, or shut down private property to search and protect. I’m sure that’ll go well. Even now armed federal agents are conducting pre-dawn raids on those dastardly amish farmers out to poison the public with there natural milk.

It gets worse as this bill grants authority for federal agencies to impose international guidelines and standards on domestic food producers. I’m not optimistic that globalist regulators and their standards are better than our own local farmers.
Of course it should come as no surprise to those paying attention that Richard Burr was instrumental in providing that “bi-partisan” coordination for this type of corporatist-statist scam. He has been commited to the globalist consolidation agenda from the get go. With senators like Burr and Kay Hagan, N.C. residents will continue to suffer loss of liberty to the elitists and their power seeking interests. I would hope folks won’t “stomach” much more of their “service”.

Richard Burr is, sadly, a co-sponsor of this bill. Call him and tell him why he’s wrong at 202-224-3154. Tell him to drop his sponsorhip of this bill and vote against it when the opportunity arises.

This is exactly why Repubicans are losing conservatives. We can trust the Republicans as far as we can trust the Democrats. Not at all. Stay on this story…the Food Safety Modernization Act is a travesty and is led by UN globalists looking to gain UN power over the sovereignty of the United States. I think it is part of Agenda 21…..look that up, if you don’t know what it is. And this situation with Burr demonstrates how our Federal representatives get to DC and “give away the farm.” I don’t know how they sleep at night.

I agree with Cheryl. That is why I left the Republican Party and am now an independent. I still learn largely to the Republicans, but I don’t feel obliged to. After 2004, they let me down on a lot of issues and that is why they lost everything in 2006. Those ‘hangers on’ had better wake up.
