Hypocrisy: It’s For The Children
Under Socialism, you don’t have to pass a law; you just have to use your economic control to make the companies enforce the law. Growing government control over banks and investment companies, directly and indirectly, allows those institutions to be used to target firearms manufacturers.
Cerberus was bullied into dropping the Freedom Group, which includes Remington and Bushmaster. Now Rahm Emanuel is demanding that TD Bank and Bank of America end their lines of credit to firearms manufacturers unless they come out in support of Obama’s war on the Bill of Rights.
The Party that claims to be upset at corporate influence over politics is trying to forcibly create a corporate lobby in favor of abrogating the Bill of Rights by exploiting their leverage over banks and the leverage of banks over private companies.

They successfully achieved a similar result with the medical marijuana business by not allowing national banks to do business with businesses that were functioning legally under state law, but ignoring federal law. While this might not have rankled many who carry negative opinions about the legalized marijuana business it should have been garnered the same level of concern that Rahm’s threat evokes.

Say what? The paranoia of the far right never ceases to amaze me. Obama and then Dems want a ban on assault rifles, something a conservative supreme court said was well within the constitutional limits. A far cry from “abrogating,” wouldn’t you say? Stop with the lame slippery slope arguments and connect to reality, ok?

What part of ‘keep and bear arms’ don’t you understand? Also, it has been rather obvious for years that the majority of the Supreme Court care nothing for the Constitution. See Clarence Thomas’ minority opinions in various cases. There is a man who supports the Constitution, but is often in the minority.

Hey Obama (and Terrence), the Second Amendment is about personal self defense, not hunting. As in having a firearm that is EQUAL to or greater in firepower than the firearm possessed by the bad guy that is shooting at you.
But Obama KNOWS that. How do I know?
Because Obama’s government just issued a Statement of Work soliciting gun manufacturers to supply the Department of Homeland Security with 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO Personal Defense Weapons (PDW). Yep, that’s right – Team Obama is looking to purchase 7,000 of the mean old nasty “AR-15″ rifles for the (and I quote) “PERSONAL DEFENSE” of the CIVILIAN, NON-MILITARY officers that work for them.

Make sure you check out pages C-6 through C-9 that EXPLICITLY describe the type of weapon required. Notice anything?
The specs Team Obama require include the EXACT items they want to make it illegal for YOU to have, but for which they want YOU TO PAY FOR THEM TO HAVE:
- 5.56 NATO chambering
- 30-round Magazine
- Matte Black, Non-Reflective Finish
- Fixed Pistol Grip
- Flash Hider / Muzzle Brake
- Adjustable / Folding Stock
- Removable / Fold-down Iron Sights
- 30″ overall length for Concealment
- Four-sided Heat Resistant Forend with Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny Rails for the mounting of optics, sights, lights, slings, etc.
For anyone who doesn’t get it yet – these are the “AR-15″ rifles Obama and his ilk continue to make such a big deal about even though less than 2% of all gun-related crimes are committed with them.
So, if the government needs this amount of firepower to achieve personal self defense against bad guys with guys, then it certainly MUST BE OKAY for law-abiding citizens to own them, right? I mean, it is a PERSONAL DEFENSE WEAPON for use in close quarters and/or when maximum concealment is required (by the government’s own definition on page C-15), right.
Now. With all that said, let’s go back to page C-1, paragraph 2.3. Notice the government is relying on / referencing the voluntary industry standard ANSI/SAAMI Z299.4-1992 for their ammunition specs, which is for Centerfire Rifle SPORTING Ammunition. By its inclusion this could only mean that Team Obama recognizes there IS A SPORTING USE for the 5.56 NATO round that the AR-15 rifle fires.
So, they want to ban – by his own words – a personal defense weapon that uses commercial sporting ammunition, but yet he wants to purchase 7,000 of them for his government’s use against bad guys. What else do you need to know, Terrence?

If gun control laws or confiscation will solve public violence ills, why do law enforcement officers need semi automatic rifles? Nay, why do they even need sidearms or shotguns if a government law will cease the need for public citizens to defend their homes and property? Using their own logic, shouldn’t all firearms be removed for everyone save for members of the armed forces and national gaurd?

Riddle me this, STW: Obama says the AR-15 sole use is killing lots of people very quickly. If that’s true, in conjunction with this purchase, is this the mission of DHS? And if it is, what people are they planning on killing lots of quickly?
