Why You Should Write In John Rhodes

|

Splitting the conservative vote by supporting a candidate other than the nominee is a controversial activity indeed. Despite the Republican Party undermining real conservatives and conservative values on a regular basis, those of us refusing to yet again lend them our support in their quest for authority are considered the traitors and political heretics.

Well, as counter-intuitive as it seems to many, I believe the best thing you can do for the Republican Party is to make the Republican brand actually stand for a clearly defined set of principles. Just not being Democrats isn’t enough to maintaining a viable coalition capable of reversing this encroaching tide of statism.

Republicans should be out there explaining the evils of statism and not just claiming they can manage statism better. After all, statism’s appeal is never based on evidence or results; its appeal is based on the intentions of those promoting it and the perceived future possibilities that it offers but which is never realized. Where are the leaders and statesmen that will publicly acknowledge the limitations of government, the dangers of big government and the need for a return to common sense? Worthless! Almost all of them!

Right now, Republicans have one foot in statist fantasy and one foot in reality—oh and a hand out in corporate board rooms asking for hand outs as well. Meanwhile, the political territory of reality is almost totally unoccupied. Yet reality is always there and will always punish if we fail to conform to its rules.

In 2008, America responded to reality’s punishment by delving deeper into fantasy. Who could stop the communist insurgency by explaining the superlative merit of capitalism of socialism and cronyism? And who among the Republicans could have done so with a straight face and a shred of credibility? The answer is nobody. The Bush Administration expanded government programs and spending dramatically and encouraged the fateful initial steps towards complete dependency on central banking monetary policy.

Against the Obammunist demagogues in 2008, the blind greed of capitalism was said to be the root of all evils. And who represented the greedy most of all were considered to be the Republicans. And who was there to say and actually believe that our crisis had not been caused by capitalism but by socialism, corporatism, and Keynesian monetary and fiscal policy? To this day, I can think of only a few instances of Republican leaders actually acknowledging an awareness of this. Mitt Romney made some ineffective attempts to explain economic realities such as in the case of the Nevada Housing Market and General Motors going Bankrupt…and of course this sent the state propaganda outlets into a frenzy…

Needless to say, they have not successfully explained this to the low information voters. Are they really this ignorant or are they just afraid to expose the system from which they maintain power? Either way, while nobody is representing reality, the nation will continue on its crash course with disaster…again. And depending on who happens to be in power at the time will probably be blamed just by virtue of being there. If an Obamminust is in power, he or she will however make lemonade out of that lemon by using the disaster as a pretext to absorb even more power and thereby reducing our ability to ever again obtain independence and sovereignty from our government. If the RINO Republicans happen to be in power, they will be simply flushed out as they were in 2008. Either way, we are being ruled by statists from both parties and the future electoral odds under these circumstances favor Democrats.

We have been abandoned by our leaders yet they expect us not to abandon them. Dr. Greg Brannon received 27% of the US Senate Primary Race in North Carolina in a race split over 4 ways. He did this by talking about our foundation principles in every speech and at every forum. Has Thom Tillis acknowledged the Constitution as our weapon of survival? Did he not refer to the current Republican Party in Washington as “awesome” in a Senatorial Debate? He has cowered on the issue of Immigration while had he instead actually taken a stronger stand based on the sovereignty of our borders and the rule of law, he would be looking pretty smart right now. He has not objected to Obamacare on the basis of a violation of our fundamental rights but instead on the basis of its high costs. Yes, he’s a “practical conservative” or some other such nonsense, as if conservatism isn’t all about practicality and common sense. But I guess RINO “practicality” involves sustainable statism and the need to compromise with communists.

The Republicans lost the House and Senate in 2006. Bush had laid the groundwork for Obama by 2008. Our 2008 and 2012 nominees both failed miserably with their Democrat-lite strategies. At the 2012 Republican Convention, all kinds of corruption occurred which disenfranchised the people. Thom Tillis avoided the people for most of his primary race only to wage a last minute and successful smear campaign against Dr. Brannon. In Mississippi, Thad Cochran actually received less Republican votes against Chris McDaniel TWICE—yet was able to win by playing the Democrat race card!!! Hillary Clinton just the other day heaped praise on the Republican Establishment for abandoning the Tea Party, i.e. their base. What all of this means is that the Republican Party as we now know it is already dead. And I say let it die. Get it over with and start rebuilding.

Yes, the Republicans no longer represent you and me, but they will do anything to obtain and maintain power. Power is in fact their only guiding principle, as it is with the Democrats. Saul Alinsky said power was not a means to end an end but an end in itself. A vote for the Republicans is seen by them as a complete transfer of sovereignty rather than a temporary transfer of power along with a mandate and responsibility to represent to the true sovereign—us!

Contrast this with former State Representative, John Rhodes. John Rhodes was a public servant in the classical sense, not a politician. He went to Raleigh and spoke the truth as he saw it, exposing corruption and standing up for our rights based on our foundational principles. He made a lot of enemies and was defeated by none other than Thom Tillis, North Carolina’s new face of cronyism and Republican Big Government. Perhaps his chances of winning the US Senate seat are not good. But at the very least, the Republican Party will have to be better if it wants to win. Furthermore, we will be laying the foundation for a new Republican Party which is necessary to build if the Republican Party is to continue to exist as a viable party at all.

Unlike the average politician today, John Rhodes did not change his core values to maintain power. He went back to live among the people, a habit more representatives should acquire. He was recruited by grassroots activists to participate in a Write-in campaign. With Tillis, you will hardly gain by winning and hardly lose by losing. He’s in Mitch McConnell’s, Karl Rove’s and the Chamber of Commerce’s back pocket. Again, these are the same people who squndered the House and Senate and White House last time in power and who laid the groundwork for Obama. The Republicans helped bring us to this precarious and desperate point in history. When they were not engineering it themselves, they were at least either enabling it or not opposing it.

Say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Mr. Tillis, if you want our vote then do a better job representing us. Declare your independence from Karl Rove and the Chamber of Commerce. Tell us you will oppose Obamacare by any means necessary because it’s diametrically opposed to our rights as United States citizens and because it is within your constitutional rights to wage such opposition. And what exactly does it mean to be a US Citizen these days anyway? Do you have to ask Tom Donohue first?

Until then, we support a candidate with more integrity in his little finger than you have K Street special interest money in the bank.
