I Am A Criminal

Yes, that’s right. I, R. Lee Wrights, being of sound mind and aging body, do solemnly acclaim and justly affirm that I am a criminal. And, if I do my job correctly, by the time you finish reading this you will realize that you are a criminal also; and, that something needs to be done […]

Keeping My Oath

Despite what you may think, I am not much of a “joiner.” Unfortunately, I have learned through experience that joining clubs or organizations, and then becoming involved in the mechanics of operating the organization, leads mostly to aggravation and frustration. It is simply too hard, or though it seems, for any organized group of human […]

Make Newtown The Last Town

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed – unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”  – James Madison Beware the person who says to you, “You don’t need a gun.” That kind of person will get you killed. Nothing proves this more than the […]

Who Are The Real Spoilers?

“The essence of government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.”  – James Madison Now that campaigns for office have come to a close, the political parties start an assessment process that follows every election. The Quiet War On Ballot Access

Not all of America’s wars are clear and visible. For decades establishment politicians have been waging a quiet, secret war most Americans don’t even realize is going on. But this war is just as destructive of our liberty as the war in Afghanistan, the war on drugs, the war on taxpayers and the myriads of […]

America Needs Secure Open Borders

America has always had an “illegal immigration” problem. Just ask any Native American. During a conversation with a Cherokee chief several years ago I asked him, “What did the native tribes call America before the white settlers came here?” He looked me straight in the eyes and solemnly replied, “Ours.” This immigration debate is a […]

A Different Kind Of Party

The Libertarian Party can make a difference in the 2012 presidential campaign. But the only way we can make a difference is by being different. We can only make a difference if the Libertarian candidate for president is not ashamed to present a clear, principled, unwavering and unequivocal libertarian message that offers Americans true choices […]

People Must Want To Be Free

Politicians are very adept about making excuses for their failures. The greater the failure, the bigger, more absurd the excuse. Shortly after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, while Americans were still reeling from shock, our political leaders very quickly conjured up a canard to cover up their failure to predict, deter, or avoid […]
