Overestimating China? Check Out The ‘Ghost Cities’

This is crazy. In order to keep increasing “economic growth,” China has been building massive cities. But these cities are deserted. “Glaring evidence that this consumer culture has been grossly overestimated.”

What Beer Do Gods Drink?

Outrage may be starting to ensue…. Upset Hindus have urged Asheville (North Carolina) based Asheville Brewing Co. to apologize and withdraw its Indian Pale Ale beer carrying image of Lord Shiva, calling it highly inappropriate. This beer, named as “Shiva”, displays the image of Hindu Lord Shiva in Nataraja form. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement [...]

Yes, Democrats, Please Stand By Obamacare

There are so many fundamental problems with the Affordable Care Act, that I’ve long believed it is not designed to actually improve the insurance system in America, but to irreparably break it in order to usher in more direct government control of health care. That said, despite apologists claims to the contrary, most critics fully [...]

Obama: ‘That Red Line Wasn’t Mine’

For people like me who thought President Barack Obama was not a well-qualified candidate for the highest office in the land in 2008, the ridiculousness that is our foreign policy is not surprising. Indeed, this was all very much expected. Even by Democrats. Remember that Hillary Clinton ad about the 3:00 a.m. call? The critique was spot [...]

NC NAACP: God Wants Socialism

Moral Monday organizer and frequent keynote speaker Rev. William Barber has a familiar refrain in his sermons from the stage: the Republicans in the NC legislature are trying to move the state backwards. It’s actually the rallying slogan:  “Forward together, not one step back.” Yet, the economic system he’s championing in a handbook for fellow [...]

McCrory Signs Voting Overhaul… Outrage Ensues

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed the voting overhaul legislation yesterday afternoon, and progressives all around America are assailing the Tar Heel state. Again. Even Hillary Clinton is getting in on the action.  From CNN: A law signed by North Carolina’s Republican governor Monday amounted to the “greatest hits of voter suppression,” Clinton argued. The measure, [...]

The Impending NC Teacher Shortage

The local teachers union… er … I mean ASSOCIATION is planning a protest (naturally) over the North Carolina budget. From Mountain Xpress: The Asheville CIty Association of Educators is holding a protest march today, gathering at Asheville Middle School at 5 p.m. The march is at the same time as one held by the NCAE in [...]

Death Cult Mob Rule, What Could Go Wrong?

If you listen to my show you know I don’t debate abortion laws, take phone calls about the abortion issue, or book guests to talk about it. Like gay marriage, people have views on abortion that are deeply connected with religious beliefs. And when you get into topics like abortion, people call in and say [...]

Tillis Is In. Can He Win?

The NC Speaker of the House Thom Tillis has announced what many Tarheel pundits already assumed – that he’s running against US Senator Kay Hagan. Can the man who led the effort to turn the General Assembly Republican for the first time in a century beat a vulnerable Democrat? Of course, that question assumes he [...]

The “minor” Changes To Benghazi Talking Points Not So Minor

Oh my. This report from ABC News is pretty damaging. State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland raised specific objections to this paragraph drafted by the CIA in its earlier versions of the talking points: “The Agency has produced numerous pieces on the threat of extremists linked to al-Qa’ida in Benghazi and eastern Libya.  These noted that, [...]
