Weekly Activist – CAUTION Newsletter

|

Newsletter for September 15, 2014

Hello!

Please join us at CAUTION on Monday, September 15, as we welcome guest speaker Ed Mattson.  As always, we meet at the Dilworth Neighborhood Grille located at 911 East Morehead Street in Charlotte at 5pm for our social hour and from 6-7:30 for our meeting.  Mattson is a published author and weekly columnist for several on-line news groups addressing Veteran, military, oncology, and government issues. He is currently writing a four-book series, the first of which, Down on Main Street Searching for American Exceptionalism, is now available.

“With the country entering into a very important election cycle, I have prepared an informative, up-lifting presentation that focuses on American Exceptionalism and identifies the key problems facing the country under the current leadership. We are witnessing America heading down a dark path toward government dependency, chronic unemployment, destruction of the best healthcare system in the world, class warfare, and financial insolvency…following a step-by-step path laid out by a Marist/Leninist doctrine to change the fabric of America” writes Mattson.

Also, don’t forget to join us AGAIN on Wednesday night, at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille from 6:00-9:30pm for part two of Loren Spivack’s presentation “Getting there from Here”, his analysis on how supporters of limited government can be successful at the ballot box. Part one was intriguing and entertaining, and Part two should be just as engaging.  Join us!  Click HERE for details.

Team Effort

We learned over the week that our good friend Martin Davis has a major project for work over the next month or so and will be unable to attend our meetings.  He has, of course, been a regular component of our meetings with his “this day in history” presentation week in and week out.  His presence will be missed. We’re looking for volunteers to adopt a week and come prepared to educate us with a history report. This week, 12th district GOP Chairman Daniel Rufty has stepped up.  We look forward to hearing from him.  Let us know if you are willing to take on the role for a week!

The Tragedy of Obamacare: A Family in Need

We all understand that the “Affordable Care Act” is one giant disaster. A recent film by Nicole Revels really brings the sad new reality of healthcare home to a very personal level as she interviews Pattie Curran, a mother in NC who has two of three children facing rare bone marrow failure syndrome combined with a secondary mitochondrial disease.  Due to Obamacare, they have seen a rapid increase in prescription drug deductibles, followed by total cancellation of coverage.  This is the story of the real life consequences of a horrible law.  You can watch the video HERE, and if you are so moved, you can make a donation to the family HERE.  You can also help by sharing the video with your friends.

Free Book

CAUTION member Bob Hartford let us know of a free E-book available on Amazon. For fans of Ayn Rand, “Atlas Shrugged: The Novel, the Films, the Philosophy” contains expert analysis of the themes and philosophy from Rand’s writings.  You can download it for free HERE.
