HERE. Prior to WWNC, Pete was most recently a reporter and video journalist for News 14 Carolina. Prior to that, he was an award-winning Radio Journalist and Radio Host in Charlotte on WBT (1110-AM & 99.3 FM) for more than a decade. During that same time, Pete wrote, produced and delivered a daily half-hour news and commentary segment on the nationally syndicated "Matt and Ramona Show" from 2001 to 2009. Pete also appeared on local television, participated in a weekly local reporter roundtable show, and moderated candidate debates. His work included stringing for CBS, CNN, and the North Carolina News Network. He was named Radio Journalist of the Year in 2006 by the Radio Television News Directors of the Carolinas. Before WBT, Pete helped run a small market radio newsroom in Rock Hill. He also worked in the Membership Department of Charlotte's public radio station. Prior to getting into the news and media industry, Pete spent a decade working in restaurants in Rock Hill and New York. So he can be a server's best - or worst - tip of the day. He was born on Long Island, NY and graduated Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC with a BA in Mass Communication Broadcast.
