My Endorsement of Harold Johnson

As one of the founding leaders of the Charlotte Tea Party and local activist, I am giving my personal endorsement to Harold Johnson for Congress.
First off I would like to thank all of the candidates who threw their hat into the 8th district race. This race is exceptionally critical in our goal of taking away the gavel from Ms. Pelosi. Mr. Kissel did vote against the healthcare bill and Cap and Trade, but he did and will again vote to seat Ms. Pelosi as speaker, therefore he must go. Both Tim and Harold are espousing conservative values. Since there is not a much of difference on how they are going to vote in Congress we need to look at style.
Several months ago, as I was preparing a speech to give to the Charlotte City Council on a proposed tax increase, I had lunch with a wise Charlotte politician. He told me that I can give two types of speeches; one to condemn or one to convince. He mentioned that only one will be effective.
We need a representative in the 8th district that is not only conservative, but effective. I feel that Mr. Johnson will be that effective leader. Someone who can help sway moderate Republicans and Democrats that we need to get our debt, spending, and taxes under control, not condemn them.
Mr. Johnson has assured me that the Tea Party folks will be pleased with his votes, and that he would be proud to represent them in Congress. I will hold him to that just as Congresswoman Myrick can attest to when I disagree with her votes.
I have not been compensated for this endorsement, I have not been asked by GOP leaders, and since I have friends and acquaintances who are working in both campaigns, I give it after much though. Unfortunately, I live in the un-democratic, gerrymandered 12th district, therefore I cannot vote in the run-off, but I could hit a golf ball from my house into the 8th district. I feel that since I am organizing North Carolina precincts of which several of them are in the 8th district; and the Tea Parties that I have been involved in have also been in the 8th district (Mecklenburg Co.) my endorsement is justified. Charlotte is in the 8th and I am a Charlottean. I am not only justified to be concerned about this race I am obligated as a resident and as an activist of this city.
