Will The Republicans Ever Learn?

|

I just heard today that there are some ‘old time, good ol’ boy Republicans’ in Washington (who aren’t up for re-election yet) who are already calling for the Republicans to ‘reach across the aisle and compromise with the democrats’ to get things done in Washington after November 2nd.  These ‘elites’ are riding the coattails of what looks to be a promising turnout for Republicans in 13 days – thanks to citizens who are tired of the same old dog-and-pony show and no thanks to the ‘old school republicans’ in office right now.  They just don’t get it and if they do, that’s even worse.

John McCain is already training up his daughter, Megan, to be just like him. Today she went on the air saying that Christine O’Donnell was an embarrassment to the Republican party and that she should step down because she has no experience. Who the heck is Megan McCain to be talking to anyone about lack of experience? Sounds a lot like the talk that went on two years ago about Sarah Palin.  Someone needs to put a sock in McCain’s lame, valley girl, know-nothing pie-hole.  But, this is what’s wrong with these RINO’s.

This is the problem of the past rearing it’s ugly head and the election isn’t even over yet. To the Democrats, when they are in control, compromise means that enough Republicans have to cast votes in favor of Democrat ideas to get them passed. But when the Republicans are in control, to Democrats, compromise means that the Republicans are supposed to let the Democrats have a say in everything and that a good portion of the Democrats’ ideas must be used.

I am not sure what ‘compromise’ means to the Republicans, but they have a history of allowing it to put them in a position where they basically stand for nothing and let the Democrats walk all over them. If that happens after this election, that will be it for the party of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr.  The Republican Party will be history. The people have spoken and the Republicans had better be listening very, very, very carefully.
