Rove Is The Problem
One of my alltime favorite movies is “The Great Escape”. My favorite scene in the movie occurs when two of the British officers are planning the famous escape. One of them draws a moral distinction between the different branches of the German armed forces. The other officer, who has been tortured by the Gestapo, vehemently disagrees, and rightly states the entire German military is equally morally culpable because it is acting in concert to destroy the Allies.
Constitutional Conservatives in this community must come to the same conclusion regarding the Rove/Bush/McCain/Burr/Romney/McCrory/Myrick/etc. – Professional Politician/Ruling Class Elite branch of the Republican Party – ” The Political Industrial Complex” – which differs from Obama and his crowd by degree, not kind. They have, and will continue, to enlave us just as surely as the Democrats, albeit at a slightly slower pace.
Rove and his fellow consultants, pollsters, PR flacks, image consultants, speechwriters, “strategists” – produce products, not leaders. Instead of citizens seeking to perpetuate limited, constitutional government, they create ” brands” the public consumes like a bar of soap. The endgame is power, certainly not individual freedom.
To persuade consumers to purchase their product they attempt to figure out what people want and give it to them. The first political team to systematize polling data to manipulate public opinion was that adorable twosome of Hitler/Goebbels.
Since greed is a universal human failing, the Political Industrial Complex has learned to latch onto it like Ed Peacock’s lips on the nearest Democrat backside. Human needs are endless, which has given the RCE an unending supply of ” problems” to solve with your money.
Think about it, when the junior Bush took office in 2001 the national debt was a ruinous, unfathomable $5.5 TRILLION. The limited government, CONSERVATIVE, GOP controlled both houses of Congress. By 2008, when Bush left office, he and his RCE colleagues had managed to double the debt to $11 TRILLION; the vast majority of the money having been wasted on demonstrably unconstitutional measures.
The moral implications of this type of criminal behavior are ineffable. The damage to our posterity is just as evil as imposing the bondage of chattel slavery. For looting our treasury to the point of fiscal oblivion, justice dictates that Bush and his crew should be cooling their heels in a federal penitentiary. Instead they are feted. I think I know why.
In many ways constitutional conservatives in this community, and around the nation, find themselves in the same situation as the Allied prisoners portrayed in ” The Great Escape”. We are deep, deep, behind enemy lines in a maximum, statist, mental prison, fanatically guarded and intimidated by specially trained, skillful, economically powerful, ideologues ( The Ruling Class Elite).
The situation is so oppressive that some of our fellow prisoners have succumbed to The Stockholm Syndrome – that is, they have grown to identify with their captors. They do their bidding. They collaborate with them. Until we come to the realization that the RCE controls our political system and get rid of them, we will never throw off the chains that shackle us.
Nobody that believes in limited, constitutional government should confer any credibility on Karl Rove and the rest of his tyrannical crew, much less allow themselves to be seduced by his manipulative shtick. Like that great philosopher Private Gomer Pyle once famously stated: ” Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame……”, well you know the rest.
