A Tea Partier in Washington
That’s right, as I begin writing this it is fast approaching Midnight Sunday here in our nation’s Capital Washington, DC. By the time I am finished it will be the wee hours of Monday and I must say I have had an amazing three days with more to come.
I have had the great pleasure of spending the last three days in an activist boot camp sponsored by FreedomWorks.
This has been a combination of Policy workshops like “Repeal and Replace: Patient Centered Health Care”, “Budget and Debt Ceiling 101” and training seminars on how to organize grassroots activism locally. I have had the great privilege of joining with more than 150 of the top activists from 30 of our 50 United States of America representing over 40 different grass roots groups.

I would like to thank those who made this possible for all of us to come together, to learn not only from the wonderful trainers at FreedomWorks but from those who attended as well. It has been a very enjoyable, educational and memorable experience. It has helped me to understand so much more and to see that we have a lot of work ahead of us as we work towards “VICTORY IN 2012”.
Later this morning I will have another opportunity to join with many of these activists in a couple of really exciting events as we actually go out and put into practice what we just learned. First we’ll be starting our morning out with a press conference where we will have an opportunity to talk with about 20 representatives from the National media who we are told are extremely interested in learning more about us, our groups, our opinions and activities. This will be an opportunity to let them know that the “Tea Party Movement” is alive and well and that we have absolutely no intentions of going away or slowing down our efforts to effect positive changes in our government. Quite the contrary we continue to grow and become even more of a force to be reckoned with.
Then we will adjourn to the halls of Congress where we will first be meeting with the people at the offices of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) which is the only political committee solely dedicated to electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate. We have a message for them regarding several incumbent candidates whom we don’t think really reflect the Constitutionally Conservative values we are looking for.
After that we will be stopping in to visit and encourage a number of Senators and Congressmen to support and to sign the Cut Cap Balance Pledge. Click link to read and sign the pledge and then encourage your representatives by calling, e-mailing, faxing and where possible visiting their local offices over the next few days as time is of the essence.
While there we will also be talking with them about the EPA Train wreck which is coming and encouraging them to take the appropriate actions to stop it. You can do your part by visiting this link for more information: End the Regulatory ‘Train Wreck’ at the Obama EPA!
Well enough for now as I must get to sleep so I can be sharp and focused when the media shows up. I will have more to report later after a full day in the halls of Congress. Keep up your hard work, make those calls regarding the issues above to your representatives as soon as possible and most importantly say a short prayer that our efforts will be well received and that we will be successful in getting our message across in such a way that it will reflect well upon not only the messengers but more those who we bring the messages from, you the voters… We The People. God Bless and thank all of you for your support.
Sincerely,
Ronnie Long – President, We the People NC, Inc
