A Letter to Ron Paul: “Run Away Train”
Dear Sir,
I am a second generation small textile manufacturer, inventor, and business owner. In trying to understand the players and to make the right choice in the next election for our Country I have been divided in my support of you and your positions particularly your foreign policy.
Last night as I watch the Iowa returns come in , I heard Sarah Palin say something that has completely shifted my perspective of why we need you and only you to be elected President.
Palin said something like ” Ron Paul is the only one who will STOP the train.” At that moment I realized that Iran nor any other outside entity is the “real” threat we face today relative to our freedoms.
We are on a runaway train which is gaining momentum by the second (debt borrowed on debt without end) and we do not have time to diagnose and “fix” it.
We do have the time to STOP the train BUT stopping the train as abruptly as is required by these dire circumstances will produce serious injuries in a large portion of our passengers. I want to suggest that I have conceived of a way to offer them a safety belt which will shift serious injury to a short period of ” serious discomfort” with only a very few injuries.
I call this “safety belt” Local sustainability which I can not explain in this note but I am able and willing to share it with you if you are interested.
What I see is a new way for you to “frame” your position(s) in a way that will allow most people to vote for you because you have convinced them of two or three things that today, as your position(s) are framed or perceived by many, will disallow them (majority) to vote for you. The framing of your position(s), as I can envision, will/can accomplish 1) that your position(s) is that we have a “runaway train” which can not be fixed in time to avert the crash.; 2) That you realize that we have the time to STOP our runway train and that you also realize that in stopping the train abruptly a lot of people (those who are already dependant on the federal government) can/will be seriously injured; 3) The last but by far the most important framing is for those people who are already addicted to the hand-outs which, using our Local sustainability model (I will sent you the model concept if you wish) , will be assured of the necessities of life (Food, Water, Clothing) after the federal government stops the hand-outs . This will demonstrate that you know what to do and why it has to be done ASAP and that you know the consequences that come from the action of the abrupt stop and that you are prepared to provide, as President of the USA, whatever temporary support is needed in order to create sustainability at the county government level.
The only people that our local sustainability concept can not underwrite long term are those that will not participate in the operations of “local sustainability”.
One last thing is that there are 3 groups that we have to care for or have them cared for by local community sustainability efforts. 1) elderly and infirmed; 2) orphans; 3)prisoners. A caveat is that orphans and prisoners can/will participate in “local sustainability” programs wherever and whenever possible as this will prepare them to be self-reliant at sometime in their future.
