Change you can believe in…

|

Once more we find the abomination that is ObamaNation finding a way to control more of the common serf’s lives and yet still blame the other guy while doing so.

Last year Carl Levin (D) and John McCain (R) wrote up a pretty little bill packaged in secret and tried passing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) behind closed doors (surprise surprise) without a hearing.  This is a
law that on its face looked like a good idea to most unsuspecting people.  This bill authorized the treasury department
to pay the defense department (which I’m not so sure is a good idea myself), as well as providing legal counsel and the ability to request base transfers for rape victims in the military.

This all sounds well and good, right?  Well as usual someone decided to tack on a little something in the dark little corner of the bill, hoping no one will go poking around and find it.  Fortunately a few of us have poked around to find what amounts to the Presidential ability to declare martial law on anyone and everyone without provocation or incarceration
first.  Is this extreme in the interpretation?  No, but maybe the wording is a bit strong.

This addendum to the bill was designed to “make Obama veto the bill”.  Obama stated he wouldn’t sign this bill until the nasty little add-on was taken out.  When Senator Mark Udall from Colorado  tried to amend the bill, it was shot down by the senate.

Well if we have learned anything about the current government, it’s that they don’t give up until they get their way, and then blame someone else for the bad press.

Instead of posting a link to the different versions of the bills, Obama’s statement to the bill signing, and the final bill that was signed, I will simply provide one link  that has all of these already linked for us.

Honestly what scares me most about all of this is the amount of control this administration is trying to steal before one solitary term is up.  This administration has taken partial control of the medical community, tried very recently to take total control over the internet via SOPA.  Now Obama has given himself the ability to hold anyone indefinitely without due course upon signing this bill into law.  All that needs to happen for anyone, and I do mean ANYONE, in America to be held is simply to be considered an enemy combatant, and we have seen how easy this administration can consider
anyone they want just that.

This is change we can believe in…and I believe it scares me.
