Michael Hobbs Announces Run for Mecklenburg County Commissioner at Large
Charlotte resident Michael Hobbs announced his Republican candidacy for Mecklenburg County Commissioner at Large in the upcoming election. Michael hopes to claim one of the vacant seats created by the decision of Jim Pendergraph and Jennifer Roberts to not seek re-election to the board.
Hobbs is a fiscally conservative and active member of the community who has a proven track record of bringing people together to get things done. He has had a 30 year professional sales career and one of the keys to his success has been his ability to interface with all levels of an organization as well as to first understand the issues before implementing a strategy. ” I believe that we need to really understand the facts as best we can before voting on issues and the absence of this, I feel has put Mecklenburg County’s long term future at risk.”
His position will focus on the concerns of the residents of Mecklenburg County to keep taxes low, spend taxpayer money wisely and create an environment that is conducive to long term sustainable job creation. ” We continue to spend taxpayer money on things that are not working and to make it worse we don’t seem to have the proper mechanisms in place to track and measure performance”, Hobbs said.
His platform will focus on bringing fiscal responsibility and accountability to all programs funded by the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners. “Isn’t that what our citizens want? No more business as usual. It’s time to chart a new and hopeful direction for all citizens of Mecklenburg County. We can do this together!”
Michael has a web site under construction but can be reached in the meantime at: electmichaelhobbs@gmail.com.
