Conservative and Anti-War?
Edwin Starr asked in his ’60s classic;
“war,what is good for?
absolutely nothing,say it again.”
Well, actually war is “good” for something.It serves the powers that wield its’ destructive force. In todays American-globalist empire,war is the tool of the corporate-fascist tyranny that threatens to overwhelm and obliterate the last vestiges of limited, constitutional, republican government. Everywhere the consequences of this reckless disregard of traditional American political philosophy are manifesting with alarming speed and intensity. One only needs to commit to do their homework to find this is true.
Anthony Wile of the Daily Bell website has described the internet as the new,modern Gutenberg press, with all the benefits of increased access to information. His conclusion is that liberty by its natural goodness will eventually prevail.I would agree however it remains to be seen how far down the road to hell and how many innocent lives this current U.S. system will destroy.Just one example from my own experience. I’ve studied history since i began to read,even writing an essay in kindergarten on “war war 1″. I never came across Smedley Butler until rather recently. How was this possible?The most highly decorated soldier in the history of the country and yet is virtually unknown. Perhaps his classic essay,”War is Racket” was not for general consumption.I began to explore other venues of information and wow, I felt cheated of my own history.The access and support available today is really quite amazing. I will include a short bibliography of works and sites for folks to reconsider what they think they know. The present situation could not have gotten this far without our failing to heed the advice of past patriots to remain informed and vigilant.
Daniel Rufty has posted information on the upcoming anti-war rally here in Charlotte on Saturday, July 21st. Please read his excellent essay for details here on ‘the Pundithouse”. I encourage all folks of goodwill to participate, but this rally is specifically designed for conservatives to reclaim their birthright of limited, constitutional, defensive foreign policy and political philosophy.
“War is never economically beneficial except for those in position to profit from
war expenditures.” ~Ron Paul
“The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the
instruments of tyranny at home.” ~James Madison
