Fire Kay Hagan

|

hagan“FIRE KAY HAGAN” – That’s the sign I’m proudly displaying in my front yard right now.

Yes, yes, I know the election isn’t until November. But it’s a constant reminder to me, as well as those passing by, that the General Election is coming and we must rid ourselves of Kay Hagan. If you love liberty and Constitutional principles, then you should be focused on this political undertaking as well.

You might ask, “What’s so bad about Senator Kay Hagan?” Nothing, if you approve of the job President Barak Obama has been doing.

But most North Carolinians don’t, and the state went red in 2012. Currently, Obama’s approval ratings are around 30% in our home state. His failed policies and consistent scandals have alienated many who had believed in his “hope and change” mantra. In 2008, Kay Hagan rode into office on Obama’s coat-tails, and she’s been a rubber stamp for him ever since. Now we need to FIRE her, for being a complete and utter failure as our senator.

Hagan had her chance to prove that she was more than a mindless Democrat who went along to get along, but she blew it. She’s plainly demonstrated that she is nothing more than a “yes man” for President Obama. The president’s policies have failed, people are dissatisfied with his time in office, and they want to go a new direction. Kay Hagan has shown us that she only travels in one direction, and she’s in lock-step with Obama.

Now that it’s time to start serious campaigning, she can’t distance herself from President Obama’s liberal agenda. She voted with him 96% of the time. She also repeated the biggest lie of 2013, over and over again. She promised people that if they wanted to keep their insurance, then they could. We all know how that turned out. The Affordable Care Act has been an abysmal failure, and over 450,000 North Carolinians have had their policies canceled, yet Hagan said she’d vote for it again.

She also comes down on the wrong side of issues like abortion. She refers to abortion as nothing more than birth-control. Hagan is out of touch with North Carolinians on this issue. Local doctor, blogger and pro-life advocate Joe Guarino has followed Kay Hagan’s pro-abortion activities and posted this on his blog (www.triadconservative.com):

“The Presbyterian tradition (Kay Hagan is a Presbyterian) has its roots in the teachings of John Calvin, who… once had the opportunity to comment on a certain scriptural verse, Exodus 21:22 (NKJV): If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

What did John Calvin say when commenting on this particular verse?
“…the unborn, though enclosed in the womb of his mother, is already a human being, and it is an almost monstrous crime to rob it of life which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man’s house is his most secure place of refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy the unborn in the womb before it has come to light.”

This is fascinating. A man who might be rightly regarded as the Father of Presbyterianism calls abortion a ‘monstrous crime.’”

This is one more reason the FIRE KAY HAGAN sign will remain in my yard until November.

Distressing? Yes, but if you think staying home on November 4th is a safe way to wash your hands of all the unpleasantness of this terrible game we call politics, you’re mistaken. If you don’t vote, it is the same as if you voted for Kay Hagan and “monstrous crimes.”

In the Primary one should feel free to vote according to their individual principles, but in the General Election one must think more strategically. This is especially true when trying to remove an incumbent with a lot of financial support from outside special-interest groups.

Senator Hagan works for us. She has proven herself unworthy of the seat she holds. It’s time to FIRE KAY HAGAN.
