Demise of the Middle Class
The true target of all the unpopular legislation is the middle class. It’s the pesky middle class who are the loudest critics, the most patriotic and the most conservative voters. These views are considered declasse the elitists and we are an embarrassment to them. More importantly though, the middle class stands between the political hacks and elitist and total domination.
The Healthcare Reform, Financial Reform, the proposed Cap and Trade and Immigration Reform will affect the middle class more than any other group. They are not the rich as so often stated but they will get the highest percentage tax increase, be more affected by the legislation in the Financial Reform bill, and will be the biggest losers in Healthcare Reform.
Keeping everyone focused on each specific travesty may work to keep our eyes off the bigger picture which is the elimination of the middle class. If the middle class becomes the new poor, there will only be the ruling aristocracy and the poor. The merchant class will have disappeared.
This is not intended as a conspiracy theory per se but all the evidence points to a desire to at least reduce the political effectiveness of the middle class by reducing their income to the point that many will find themselves the recipients of government largess and not the contributors.
