Let the Voter Fraud Begin
Reports of irregularities with straight party voting are coming in from across the country. Claims have been made that voters attempting to select a straight party Republican ballot have seen the names of the Democrats running checked instead.
This isn’t isolated to Florida and Chicago. It could be happening right here in Mecklenburg County.
PunditHouse received this message from a reader earlier this morning:
Friend from church voting early on Tuesday had her vote switched from
straight republican to democrat, she caught the error and notified the
poll worker, but wasn’t convinced her vote was recorded.
Rob Bryan, the Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party, sent an email today warning local GOP faithful to monitor their ballots before casting their final votes.
Unfortunately, we have reason to have grave concerns regarding the operation of electronic voting machines in polling places across Mecklenburg County.
There have been multiple reports from voters within Mecklenburg County, other North Carolina counties and as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada (which uses similar machines) of voters seeking to cast electronic ballots for Republicans only to have the final review screen show votes for Democrats. (To date, surprisingly, we are unaware of any instances of the opposite occurring.)
The MeckGOP precinct judges and observers have been made aware of these occurrences and concerns. However, we need YOUR help to protect the integrity of our elections.
#1 Before you press the red “Press here to cast your ballot now” button … Review the choices to confirm that these are the candidates you chose to vote for.
#2 If you have any issues when voting, immediately ask to speak with an elections supervisor and demand that your vote be corrected. In certain circumstances, we have learned that it took as many as five tries by an elections supervisor to get the machine to record the Republican ballot the voter wished to cast.
#3 If you have any issues when voting or if any such issues arose when you cast your ballot earlier during Early Voting (even if it was corrected), we need to know about it immediately. Call both the MeckGOP HQ at (704) 334-9127 and the NCGOP Election Hotline at (704) 817-0467.
The best protection against these types of elections irregularities is a vigilant voter. Be aware when you vote and double check your ballot, and inform ALL of your friends and neighbors (no matter their political persuasion) that they need to be vigilant as well.
