The Ruling Class Elite Has Arrived!
In yesterday’s Charlotte Observer the Ruling Class Elite did what they do best; smooch one another’s big, fat, backsides. The RCE is in ecstasy over landing the 2012 Democratic National Convention, which as you know, is the single greatest achievement in the history of mankind. Naturally the RCE at the CO used this as an excuse for some serious braggadocio, which is the only thing these folks are actually good at doing.
The great CO sage, Tommy Tomlinson, gave us a history lesson explaining how this seminal event came about. Seems building the airport, the now demolished Tyvola Road Arena, and the presence of Lord Hugh McColl, C.D. Spangler and Ed Crutchfield, propelled our formerly atavistic backwater into the dynamic, sophisticated, world-class, cutting edge, stupendous, financial juggernaut, colossus, Charlotte is today.
We are GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!! and by God, it’s high time the rest of the world knows it, says the RCE. You see the DNC coming to Charlotte validates Charlotte as a legitimate place for the the members of the RCE to live.
Previously, to be completely honest, for a member of the RCE, living in Charlotte was proof that they had failed in life. Success meant living in NYC, Washington, Chicago, LA, or Boston, doing sophisticated things with sophisticated people.
The poor RCE stuck at the Charlotte Observer have felt this shame more than the other members of their exalted class. Hailing from other places, lacking the credentials/connections to work for what they consider to be real newspapers like The New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, or the The LA Times, stuck in this journalistic backwater, making minor league money, writing for racist, homophobic, ignorant, hayseed rubes, these superior people have done their very best to change Charlotte to make this the kind of place a member of their enlightened class would be proud to call home.
Using the unearned journalistic legitimacy conferred on a monopoly paper, the CO has tried to shape and control this community. If you read the paper, one would be led to believe that Charlotte having the highest per capita taxes by a huge margin in North Carolina for the last 9 years is wonderful because taxes are always prudent “investments” in our community, and the more we pay in taxes, the greater our prosperity will be.
If you have been reading the CO for any length of time you will also realize that we are indeed incredibly fortunate to live in a centrally planned city which is controlled by genius governmental bureaucrats adhering to the enlightened principles of ” Smart Growth.”
You see, it’s really best that our masters control us so we can have the great good fortune to live in a densely populated city where a person will experience very little privacy, where the main mode of transportation will be light rail which is able to move people around at the stupendous speed of 25 mph and cost taxpayer’s $4 to transport a human carcass one mile ( Cost to travel one mile by automobile: .25$).You see life is just too complex for normal human beings to navigate. Only our RCE masters are capable of making the correct decisions which will guide our meager, insignificant lives.
According to the CO the only legitimate “Christian” churches in this community are not those that attempt to lead individuals to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but those ” churches” that do nice things for poor people, which makes for heartwarming stories in the CO. These true ” churches” are also good because they preach ” tolerance/complete acceptance” for ” alternative” lifestyles, and of course ordain females. Scripture, well let’s just say it’s at best irrelevant.
I could go on, but you get the picture. Too a great extent, the narrative the RCE has been foisting on this community is completely false. There’s no denying certain individuals and government projects have helped Charlotte. The airport is a huge economic driver, along with Interstates #77 and #85. McColl, Crutchfield, and Spangler have made huge contributions.
There are almost 700,000 legal citizens in Charlotte, and over 35,000 licensed businesses. That is where our real strength resides. The DNC coming to this town for one week in 2012 affirms nothing. It may make some insecure snobs feel a little better about their absurd existence, but just think of how depressed the RCE will be when Obama and his menagerie pull out of town at the end of the DNC.
Look for the RCE to try and top the DNC. Do you suppose Charlotte could land the Olympics?
