South Carolina Republicans On The Way
Things are certainly looking up these days for North Carolina Republicans.
With Democrats plagued by sex scandals, the brilliant political move (*sarcasm*) by the President to declare his support for gay marriage the day after the same suffered a significant electoral defeat by North Carolina voters, and Walter Dalton trailing Pat McCrory in the race for governor, signs point to the right in November’s contests.
Bolstering that likelihood, our friends in the Palmetto State announced yesterday that reinforcements are on the way.
“The South Carolina Republican Party has pledged to provide at least 1,000 volunteers to work the phones, knock on doors, and register voters in North Carolina in advance of Election Day,” said SCGOP Chairman Chad Connelly. “South Carolina is not a battleground state, but our close proximity to North Carolina provides our volunteers the unique opportunity to make a big difference in what will be a crucial battleground state and home of the Democratic National Convention.”
Thanks y’all.
Things can change between now and November, and current optimism should not trump continuing to work hard in election efforts…even if you get assigned your very own South Carolinian for a week…but all things considered, the path looks positive.
