Stories written by Christian Hine
A 1999 Cum Laude graduate of UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business, Christian has spent fifteen years as an award winning political activist and consultant in both North and South Carolina...with a little radio talk show hosting and newspaper editing thrown in for good measure. A self-described "Republitarian", Christian is an unabashed advocate of traditional free market capitalism and views passage of the FairTax as the single most effective method to combat the social manipulation and corruption found in government today. When not stressing over yet another new law, Christian enjoys treasure hunting, obscure European power metal bands, good beer, and anything related to Carolina Panthers football...except talking about the 2001 season. He's removed that from memory.

Numbers Don’t Lie

It may be months before Halloween, but there is a fiend hiding in plain sight just waiting to pounce on the uninformed American citizen.  That fiend is dressed as an entitlement monster, and that monster is about to attack. Thanks to House Guest Frank Hill for providing some charts courtesy of the Congressional Budget Office.  […]

Saturday Night House Party

Two totally different genres on tap for tonight’s House Party. We’ll go in order from something old to something new. GOP Primary Debates Debatable

Four years ago last month I had already made my decision for whom to vote in the Republican Primary election for President.  My support for Mike Huckabee came after an ever so brief bout of support for Mitt Romney.  (Boy oh boy does it hurt to admit that given what I’ve since come to realize […]

Perdue Veto Overturned

Beverly Perdue was the first North Carolina Governor to veto a state budget. She is now the first North Carolina Governor to have her budget veto overridden. Politicizing the Budget Veto

Any speculation as to whether Governor Perdue would veto the recently passed North Carolina budget was put to rest on Sunday when she did what any good partisan running for reelection would do…she vetoed it and proceeded to send a fundraising email to supporters the following day claiming that  the Republican-drawn budget will do “generational damage” to […]
