Local Tea Party Members Endorse Johnson

|

On Wednesday, Harold Johnson, Republican Candidate for the 8th Congressional District, announced the endorsement of six key players in the Tea Party movement: Craig Nannini, Mecklenburg County Tea Party Leader; Rev. Russ Fincham, Tea Party Patriot activist from Rockingham; Corey Thompson, Co-Founder of CAUTION (“Common Americans United To Inspire OUR Nation”), Tea Party activist, and candidate for Mecklenburg County Commission At Large; Tariq Bokhari, Charlotte Political Activist and Tea Party Organizer; Kristie Chapman, Tea Party speaker and conservative blogger; and Lori Stadler, Former Communications Chairwoman for We the People of Cabarrus County, a group that endorsed D’Annunzio prior to the May 4th primary.

These endorsements illustrate the broad appeal Johnson has received as he heads toward a critical runoff election on June 22nd. In accepting the endorsements, Johnson said “I have always been very proud to have so many great supporters within the Tea Party movement. We share the view that in order to change the way Washington operates, we need to be more judicious in choosing our representatives. My focus is on controlling spending, limiting the role of government, and creating jobs. That’s how we’ll get this country back on track.”

“The Tea Party movement began as a grassroots movement to restore fiscal responsibility, accountability, and trustworthiness in our leaders,” said Craig Nannini. “I’m supporting Harold Johnson because we need to be sure that the people we send to Congress reflect those values.”

Corey Thompson said “Right now our nation needs more leaders who are willing to put their conservative principles ahead of political rhetoric. Harold Johnson is just the man for that job, and I am proud to endorse his effort to represent the citizens of District 8, and to serve this great nation we love so much.”

“I am supporting Harold Johnson for the 8th District Congressional seat because he truly represents the values and character of the Tea Party Movement. Harold Johnson is first and foremost, a man of integrity whose word I can trust. Without character and integrity a man’s words are meaningless” said Lori Stadler. “If the Presidential election showed us anything, it was that a person’s past is extremely relevant when deciding on who to vote for. In addition, he is a fiscal conservative, believes in limited government, cutting government spending, and most importantly, upholding our constitution.”

Rev. Fincham said “Harold Johnson has the experience, connections, and determination needed to go to Washington and work within the system to bring about positive change for the 8th District of North Carolina.”

Johnson has received broad support in his bid to replace incumbent Larry Kissell in the 8th District including endorsements from former 8th District Congressman Robin Hayes; former NC Governors Jim Martin and Jim Holshouser; 8th District Republican Candidates Lou Huddleston, Hal Jordan, and Darrell Day; NASCAR Champion Darrell Waltrip; NC State Representatives Jeff Barnhart and Justin Burr; NC House Deputy Republican Whip Fred F. Steen II; former State Representative Bobby Harold Barbee, Sr.; former Congressman Cass Ballenger; Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Chair Jay White; Stanly County Commissioner Jann Lowder; former Stanly County Commission Gary Lowder; Kannapolis Councilman Roger Haas; Locust Mayor Scott Efird; Locust Councilmen Joe Bishop and Wilson Barbee; Weddington Mayor Nancy Anderson; Cabarrus County School Board Members Carolyn Carpenter and Andrea Palo; and former Stanly County Republican Chair B.A. Smith.
