Thursday, August 9, 6:30-9:00PM –  Special Screening of “They Come to America”

CAUTION and Stand Up NC are proud to host Dennis Michael Lynch in the viewing of his provacative and controversial film “They Come To America – The Cost of Illegal Immigration”.

The film is being shown in Mooresville before it is unveiled nationally during the Republican National Convention in Tampa on August 30. The film maker, Dennis Michael Lynch will be here in person to discuss with the audience the making of the film and engage in a Q & A after the showing.  Doors open at 6:30 pm with movie starting at 6:45pm. Showing is in the theater of the Charles Mack Citizen Center located at 215 North Main Street , Mooresville, NC.
NOTE: There will be a meet and greet with the film maker from 5 -6:15 before the event at the Epic Chophouse located at 104 South Main Street (just a short distance south of the Mack Center). Friday, August 10, 7:00pm-??? – Mecklenburg County Young Republican Social Meeting
Join us at Mez on opening night of the Will Farrell & Zach Galifan…??? movie on 8/10! We have arranged a special night for us to view & party before & after. The movie will begin between 7pm & 8pm but meet us before for a beverage & then stay after for fun & dancing!!! Free parking & cover if coming to the movie & $2 Miller Lights. If you don’t want to join us for the movie but still want to come out & socialize, it’s free cover before 10pm & $5 cover after 10pm. Parking is not free is you do not attend the movie. Saturday, August 11, 1:00pm – Rowan Tea Party/American’s For Prosperity Phone Bank
On Sat. August 11th your RTPP and American’s for Prosperity NC will be holding a phone banking session at Comfort Suites in Salisbury. We are looking for volunteers to join us to make calls. Neil Oakley from AFP will coordinate this event. At AFP’s last months phone bank we had 7 people from our group participate and receive a gift from AFP. This time we would like to have more members of RTPP join us. For those who take part in this phone bank you will receive a special gift from your RTPP and help us get volunteer hrs from AFP. The group with the most phone banking hours in the next few months will receive a special guest speaker at one of their next events after the November elections.

Two more Property Revaluation Public Hearings to be held!

Update: the following is a schedule of the Property Tax Revaluation public meetings:

The County has posted the following schedule of public meetings with Pearson Associates, the consulting company performing the Review. There is no further information available, but based on the Pearson proposal; citizens will have 2 minutes to present their information. We strongly recommend you attend, as they need to hear from you what happened to you during the Revaluation.  Bring documents to leave with them to support your claim.
