Monday, October 22 – CAUTION Meeting
Join CAUTION this Monday at 6:00pm (Social from 5-6) at the Dilworth Neighborhood Grille for a liberty minded selection of local speakers.
Kicking off the night will be Eric Rowell, one of the organizers of the new Charlotte branch of the Bastiat Society. Inspired by the works of Frederic Bastiat, the society was formed “to educate other wealth creators on their right to the moral high ground, and to help them understand the intellectual and cultural institutions that are necessary for individual success. Our motto is, “Those who work in freedom should know how freedom works.” ”
Eric will provide information on both the society as well as the economic philosophy of Bastiat.
We also will be hearing from Andy Clarkson, one of the organizers responsible for bringing Yaron Brook, the president of the Ayn Rand Institute, to Charlotte on November 5. Brook will be in town to discuss his new book, “Free Market Revolution: How Ayn Rand’s Ideas Can End Big Government”. Mr. Clarkson will give us a sneak peek.
Last but not least, CAUTION member Bob Hartford will present some of the theoretical and practical principles that are dramatized in Atlas Shrugged Part II. For those who have seen the film, the presentation will clarify some of the face-paced scenes. For those who have not yet seen the film, the presentation will provide some insight into the ideas and allow a deeper grasp of the principles as the movie unfolds. The film has so many clear and valuable lessons for our own efforts to achieve limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility that we would all benefit from seeing the film twice.

Monday, October 22 – Presidential Primetime: The Final Debate
(After CAUTION, stick around for this MeckYR event!)
As the campaign heads into the final weeks, it’s time for the final Presidential debate! Once again the Young Republicans are hosting a viewing party! We have had over 100 people at each of our previous three debate watching parties, and I am sure we will have just as high of a turnout for this one.
What’s the topic this time? Foreign policy! Governor Romney is sure to come out swinging, as President Obama is waist-deep in Benghazi-gate. This will be a great debate!
As always, it will be a packed house, so plan to arrive by 8:30pm to the Dilworth Neighborhood Grille to get a good spot! Invite your friends, and we’ll have a great time!
