Four More Years: WTF?
Well, here we are.
The initial shock has worn off, leaving many of us are asking ourselves, “What went wrong,” and “What now?”
From a numbers perspective it’s easy:
The Democrats – playing their same old game of giving away other people’s property – got the Blacks, Latinos, the 18 – 30 crowd, rich liberal elites, and the majority of women. Of course it took them stealing, borrowing, and printing over $6 trillion in the last four years to do it. But idiots who want something for free are easily duped, and they will get what they deserve in the long run.
Highly-educated non-partisan conservatives, strict constitutionalists, hard-core libertarians, and a lot of others who value liberty (over freedom), integrity (over wealth), and their principles (over party loyalty) refused to tow the GOP party line; protesting against the GOP’s vanilla-flavored bankster candidate by not voting, writing in Ron Paul, or voting for Gary Johnson. As a result, they crushed the GOP’s hopes while standing up for Private Property Rights and the Rule of Law (which for the masses means we’re the hyper-conservative voters, not Republicans who like to smoke pot as we’re sometimes called).
The Republican party, of course, got everyone else, which ain’t much. And from what I hear, most of those who did vote for the GOP Establishment had to hold their nose and accept the lesser evil, more as a vote against Obama than a vote for Romney. That’s no way to win elections. So, they still lost and now they’re wondering how Romney got fewer votes than McCain did in 2008. Why they couldn’t see this coming is beyond me.
The dissension in the ranks that has destroyed the GOP was caused by one thing: The Internet.
See, people who historically have voted Republican are (statistically) better educated and have more money than those who vote Democrat. And, statistically, people who are more educated and have more money are more likely to at least one other thing in common. They READ. And what does reading do? It leads to learning, which leads to people changing their world view.
And believe me, in the last four years, many a former GOP’er – through reading, learning, and discussing – came to the conclusion that holding one’s nose and voting for the lesser evil over and over and over is more akin to living on one’s knees than it is dying on one’s feet.
For me, I chose the latter. And that, my fellow conservatives, is why Obama won.
Am I happy about it? Hell no. But can I stand on my principle’s and integrity and say I stood for liberty and freedom?
Absolutely.
Thanks for reading. Maybe in 2016 more of us will have done the same.
In the meantime, the GOP is dead. Get over it, get used it, and get on with it. We will survive, no matter what.
