Want to Save the Union Then Think Locally

|

Refuse-to-play-the-GameI would like to throw out an alternative for those that are truly interested in expanding freedom and saving the union of states and that is for the creators to rein in their creation. By that, I mean that we must face the fact that the former federal now central government will not and I believe cannot fix itself. The sheer size and complexity of our central government is completely out of scale; no one man, woman, or group of them will be able to rein in this Frankenstein monster.

There are very few candidates for political office that have come along that have understood the Constitution, our founders and the role of the federal government and that of the states as well as Dr. Greg Brannon here in North Carolina. Let’s say that Greg Brannon had won the primary and gone on to win in November, would his voice in the senate help spread the message  ̶  absolutely it would.

However, would his one vote have turned the tide? Maybe on a few bills here and there but in the end it would not save the republic. This is not a slam on Greg or for that mater others like Senators Paul, Lee or Cruz or the few good men and women in the US House that are working so hard return the government to its enumerated powers, it is just the fact, it cannot be done even if someone like a Paul, Lee or Cruz were President.

If you think I am wrong then show me where I am wrong.

As much as I liked Reagan, he did not reduce the size of the “federal” government or eliminate any departments. You say that he did not have control of the House or the Senate, yes, you are correct but what then when Bush was President and the Republicans controlled both houses. What provisions of the Constitution were reinstituted, what departments closed down, what programs eliminated?

Did we become freer or less so; did liberty expand or shrink?

As I stated only the creators can rein in the creation and a few of them are starting to wake up to the fact that we the people of the states must reassert our sovereignty.

The number of states that have introduced and passed legislation refusing to comply with the “federal” government has grown. This trend will continue if and only if we expend as much energy in finding, recruiting and electing men and women to state offices as we do to national office.

We must realize that for us to regain our rights and freedoms we must first reclaim our state sovereignty, then and only then will freedom grow and tyranny recede.

There is talk of educating more people about freedom, liberty and the Constitution; for teaching, what our founders tried to tell us and to warn us about. That is exactly what we need to do but then let us not send our constitutional patriots off to that meat grinder in DC.

Establishment politicians, bureaucrats and those that back them will do whatever they have to keep control over the trillions of dollars that flows out of DC.  They will never ever change willingly. Why should they, as long as they know that the people and the states will comply, will submit. It is way to easy for them to control one central government with 50 compliant states. Change will only come when it is forced on them by noncompliance, nullification and if need be interposition from independent sovereign states.

We must make our stand here in North Carolina NOT in DC; we as a state must get up off our knees and say, NO MORE, WE WILL NOT COMPLY!

Let us put as much energy and hard work into electing men and women of integrity and constitutional knowledge into local and state offices and then demand DEMAND that they NULLIFY and REFUSE TO COMPLY with unconstitutional edicts from Washington, DC.

If your goal is to save the United States then you must first save THESE United States. To do that you must first be a citizen of the Great State of North Carolina and only then can you call yourself a citizen of the United States.

There are many that are hoping Dr. Brannon would consider running again in 2016, if he were too, I would hope that he would forget about national office and consider running for governor instead.

Think about it  ̶  you want to stop Common Core, Obamacare, NSA spying, NDAA indefinite detention, violations of our Second Amendment rights? Then elect a state legislature and governor that refuse to comply.

Would a state led by a governor that refuses unconstitutional edits emanating from Washington, DC have national exposure? Would a governor who knew the Constitution, the words of our founders and can articulate them clearly be able to educate the citizens of not only our state but also other states? Could a state that grew freedom and resisted tyranny be a bacon for other states to follow?

You want to restore the Constitution and expand freedom and liberty. Then we must first restore federalism and that means putting our best people into state and local offices and NOT DC.
