The Charlotte budget battle heats up! Seemingly, the only plan which has the votes to pass Council (disturbingly still containing a tax increase and yet supported by the two Republican City Council members) faces the veto threat of Mayor Foxx due to the exclusion of funding for the Streetcar, something he mentioned in campaign mode he wouldn’t support a tax hike over. (Gotta love politicians and their selective memory lapses…from both Parties.)
A vote will be called tonight, so keep those emails and phone calls going!

To that end, on June 25th we will re-launch as the Greater Charlotte Campaign for Liberty Meetup. Please join us for an evening of fellowship as we outline our plans for locally-based grassroots activism. We’ve been lucky enough to re-secure our old regular meeting spot, Presto Grill, where we will meet in the upstairs private dining room.
