On Syria: To Bomb or Not to Bomb?

|

The Syrian government is at war with a rebel force who’s intent is to overthrow the government.

The rebels are aligned with, and getting support from, Al-Qaeda.  This is not in is dispute by anyone.

Someone used chemical weapons to kill a bunch of civilians in Syria.

We don’t know if it was the government, the rebel force, or someone else.

The US government blames it on the Syrian government, but no has presented and PROOF to back this claim.

Obama has said the use of chemical weapons is his “red line in the sand” for US military intervention.

So, Obama is planning to drop bombs on the Syrian government.  Republican Senator John McCain supports the bombings.

Despite the bombs, Obama told the Syrian President we are NOT out to stop him, kill him, or even force him to resign.

So why are we going to drop bombs if we’re not attempting to destroy the people we’re dropping the bombs on?

If Obama does drop bombs on the Syrian government, the US will officially and publicly be helping Al-Qaeda.

Al-Qaeda is a declared enemy of the US.  Thus, the US government would be committing treason by helping a declared enemy of the US.

In other words, we would be helping the terrorists if we drop the bombs.

On the hand, dropping bombs on the Syrians would likely lead to the US being attacked by terrorists.

No, not the Al-Qaeda terrorists.  The Hezbollah terrorists; who are aligned with Iran, who is aligned with…

You guessed it, the Syrian government.

And, on top of all this (as if that weren’t enough). . .

China and Russia are both using very strong language in an attempt to prevent the US from dropping bombs on Syria.

Language like, “catastrophic consequences.”

And lastly, the only people in the US who can actually declare war (that being Congress) haven’t even been asked to do so.

Oh, but even if Obama chooses to ignore Congress (just as Bush did), we do have to wait for the United Nations to give us permission to drop the bombs.

And the Republicans said Ron Paul was crazy and weak on foreign policy?   Folks, this is about as crazy as it gets.
