Making Nonsense Out of Sense

Your taxes will go up. The level of your medical care will go down. The time that you will have to wait for care will go up, and the national growth rate will slow significantly. All of these maladies we can plant at the doorstep of Obamacare and you heard it here. We will not have to wait until November to issue our protest at the ballot box. We can start screaming now. Let’s start with this simple fact. In a time when the United States budget deficit stands at 1.4 to 1.7 trillion dollars depending on who you believe, the Congress of the United States just passed another multi-trillion dollar entitlement insuring the liberals dreams of a cradle to grave government subsidy. Huzzah!

Welcome to the People’s Republic of America. Let me tell you what most sickens me; Everytime the POTUS or the liberal left marches out someone with cancer and no insurance coverage in order to make their case. I find the media complicit in this as well. The argument goes that those of us concerned about such mundane matters as what our children will have to deal with are deemed to be insensitive to the needs of the terminally ill. And, that is just hyperbolic horse hockey.

Common sense should not ever be regaled by anybody as an unthinking, un-feeling, unyielding, hard hearted character flaw. Rather, somebody, driven by common sense, should start by simply asking the most basic of questions, “if we do this, what does this mean?” Or, better yet, is there a way of solving this problem without throwing democracy over a cliff?

Make no mistake. The democrats in the majority ignored the will of the majority, and there must be a price to pay for that or “of the people, by the people, and for the people, is so much cow flop. I don’t believe that. I do believe that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the President and his men successfully strong-armed the Congress into accomplishing their will and not the will of the people. While it is not criminal, it is shameful. Now, here’s the rub. The people elected them. We get the government that we deserve and, brother, we will pay a huge price for the stupidity of November 2007.

For example, Caterpillar estimates that this bill will increase their health care costs by 100 million dollars in the first year alone according to the Wall Street Journal. Who do you think picks up that tab? Many of the new taxes and insurance mandates will take effect within 6 months thus virtually insuring higher health care premiums from the get go. So, you get to keep what you have but it will cost you more.

Gird your loins, people. This is only the beginning. Financial regulation is right around the corner. I wonder if Rush is really going to leave the country, and if he does, is there room for a stow-away?
