Using Tragedy For Political Traction
A mentally unstable man kills six, injuring more and, no surprise, the left wing uses the ‘crisis’ to write and shout that it is the fault of the right wing. The list of those making such attacks is extensive. It makes one suspect collusion. I hate to join in the fray, but it needs addressed.
Fearful that everything they have worked so deviously to accomplish is likely to fall apart, the apologists for the left seize a tragedy for an emotional, illegitimate attack on the right. This from The Wall Street Journal’s Glenn Harlan Reynolds:
“….(a) asserting a connection between the “rhetoric” and the shooting, …..would be what we call a vicious lie; or (b) …..in which case you’re just trying to seize on a tragedy to score unrelated political points, which is contemptible.
“……But those who purport to care for the health of our political community demonstrate precious little actual concern for America’s well being when they seize on any pretext, however flimsy, to call their political opponents accomplices to murder.
“Where is the decency in that?”
Mr. Reynolds’s point is to show how those of the left, those who lead the political discourse of the left, say they care about politeness and decency, while in the same paragraph doing the exact opposite. The fact is they don’t care about decency. They don’t care about honor (they have none). They care about control and winning and power. They work daily to take away your freedom, while being derogatory toward those who would read the US Constitution in Congress. That is because they don’t like the Constitution, it would limit their ability to use government to control your life.
I suggest you read the Constitution. It is not difficult. Especially read Article I Section 8 and ask yourself how the Department of Education is legal, or donations to National Public Radio or, the most dangerous, the Environmental Protection Agency. Read the first 10 amendments, especially the 9th and 10th, and consider what you think they mean.
Read Article 3. It is about the courts. Nowhere is there a requirement that judges be lawyers. Why, because those who wrote the Constitution didn’t think being a lawyer was necessary to being a judge. And what have we gotten for the mistake of allowing only lawyers to be judges?
In combination with the Republicrats, we have gotten an overly burdensome government that is not concerned with the ‘general welfare’ but only the welfare of the Ruling Class, which uses the courts to rubber stamp the illegitimate laws written in Congress.
Self-interest is the concern of the left. They will use any excuse, even a terrible tragedy, to marginalize those who oppose them. They attack the right to deflect attention from the concerns of those who love freedom. I say tit for tat.
The reason the mentally unstable man was on the street was the fault of the bleeding-heart left. Their inane desire to not treat the mentally ill, to close hospitals and pretend that with a little help, the mentally unstable can live with the rest of us is the reason that six people are dead and many are injured.
It is a direct result of the misdirected policies of the left that leave the mentally unstable to do anything they want, and the left must take responsibility. So they seek to avoid responsibility. They attempt both to deflect attention from their direct responsibility for the cause and also to place blame on those who talk about personal responsibility.
A neat trick if you can pull it off.
