State Chains Turner To Desk Duty
What else has Warren Turner done? Don’t know. Don’t know for even close to certain if he’s done what’s been alleged, but the fact that the list is growing is not a good sign.
Turner, the District 3 rep on Charlotte City Council, was named as the councilmember that at least four city staffers accused of sexual harassment in a recently released investigation. Now comes word over the weekend of a complaint filed last year that Turner, a state probation officer by trade, was flashing around a gun while passing himself off as a county building inspector, ordering laborers to stop work on a project.
City Manager Curt Walton was reportedly informed of the incident and chose to ignore it, similar to some of the sexual harassment allegations lodged against Turner.
The N.C. Department of Correction, the agency that employs Turner, has reassigned him to a desk job and required that he relinquish his state-issued firearm and car, while they conduct their own investigation into the matters.
Turner, meanwhile, denies the allegations.
Given his position as a probation officer, one has to wonder how long it is before more complaints – valid or not – are ready to pop on the horizon.
