Interesting sidebar to the uptown EpiCentre foreclosure and how it could directly impact your wallet when the county comes knocking next year with its property revaluation, and by extension bode ominously for the county’s continuing financial implosion.
Jeff Taylor lays out how Afshin Ghazi, delinquent last year on paying EpiCentre’s $600,000 property tax bill, was able to get the value of the property reduced by some 26 percent, from $61 million to $45 million.
That’s a sweet precedent, as Taylor notes, for any property owner looking to fight an inflated number the county’s reval yields.
