Blurred Vision

|

The braintrust behind the 2020 Center City Vision Plan wrapped its last community forum this week, prepping for a release next month of what promises to be a wish list of wild uptown spending. Still in play, apparently, the mind-numbingly expensive pipedream to cap I-277 with an open space promenade that will better connect uptown’s core with surrounding neighborhoods.

This with school closings, library closings, park closings, a county on the verge of insolvency and regional unemployment still hovering around double digits.

And the take-away from $347K-a-year Center City Partners chief cheerleader Michael Smith, leading the 2020 Blurred Vision Tour: “We wrapped up such an incredible decade in the last decade, yet our work is so far from done.”

Unreal.

Please, Don Michael, stop before you work us all into abject serfdom.
