Super Hypocrisy
It’s apparently fine and dandy for national food czarina Michelle Obama to throw her considerable weight behind government mandates that tell our children what they can and cannot eat, but the White House food police seems to have some trouble following its own prescriptive menu.
Check out the wholesome fruit-and-vegetable spread offered up at this year’s presidential Super Bowl Party, as reported by the AP:
For his Super Bowl party Sunday evening, Obama is offering Yuengling Lager and Light, brewed in Pennsylvania, and Hinterland Pale Ale and Amber Ale, all the way from Wisconsin. Independents can pour down some White House Honey Ale if they like.
The rest of the menu for the 100 or so guests at the White House bash is tailgate-friendly even if served inside the Executive Mansion: bratwurst, kielbasa, cheeseburgers, deep-dish pizza and Buffalo wings with sides of German potato salad, twice-baked potatoes and assorted chips and dips.
The hypocrisy is bad enough, but pouring Yuengling instead of Iron City or Rolling Rock as the Steelers side brew of choice? Really? No wonder Obama couldn’t tap a primary win in Pa.
