CharMeck Media Movers: Win Some, Lose Some
A mixed bag of news on the local media front, with word that former WBT talker and PH contributor Pete Kaliner has landed a gig with News 14 covering the education beat, effective this Friday. That’s a huge win for Charlotte; Kaliner for years was one of the best and brightest reporters on the local government beat and it’s welcome news to hear he’ll be back in the trenches keeping tabs on CMS.
The loss? After nearly six years of providing stellar commentary and analysis of all things local, and beyond, Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor is decamping Detroit-on-the-Catawba at the end of July for greener pastures in Atlanta. That gale-force wind blowing through Center City today? That would be a collective sigh of relief from the uptown lunch bunch and local GovCo (but I repeat myself), who were frequent and wholly deserving targets of Taylor’s wit and wisdom.
Big ups and all the best for Pete and Jeff in their future endeavors.
