Foxx Pimping For The One

|

Or is it the other way around? Hard to tell, not that it really matters; either way, the spin will be flying hot and heavy as Mayor Anthony Foxx steps up today to, once again, shill for the Obama Administration.

This time around Foxx has been invited to a photo opp to speak with President Obama about the “State of American Cities” and “Signs of Hope.” And what better affirmation of both than Char-Meck’s stagnant and wretched unemployment rate, tanking real estate market, and uptown gang riots?

Joining today’s presser, slated for 5:15, along with Foxx and The One will be Obama’s chief of staff, Bill Daley, and senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett. All good and well, as far as feel-good PR events go, but Foxx landing once again at Obama’s feet begs the question: when is someone, anyone, from the local MSM – or GOP mayoral contender Scott Stone’s camp – going to press Foxx about his commitment to serving out a full second term as Queen City mayor, if he’s reelected, given the obvious grooming and primping he’s had to take the leap to D.C.?

Recall that the local press and Democrat machine – but I repeat myself – was all over Republican Pat McCrory about his commitment level the last time he was on the mayoral ticket versus potential conflicts with a run for governor. Shouldn’t similar questions and concerns  be raised about Foxx; and if not, why not?
