Biden Doubles Down On Murder And Rape Rhetoric

|

In case you missed it the first time around, Vice President Joe Biden earlier this month was left grasping for hardcore scare tactics to push the administration’s sagging Jobs Act, arguing that its passage, in addition to helping the economy, would also, miraculously, prevent murder and rape from occurring on large scale:

When the message failed to gain significant traction, indeed was largely ridiculed as a desperate and shameful attempt to garner support for a flawed economic stimulus plan, Biden doubled down this week by ratcheting up the rhetoric during a tour stop in Philly:

The problem with Biden’s argument is two-fold: for starters, it’s inherently false by the numbers. Despite his cherry picking a municipality like Flint, Mich., where violent crime has increased year-to-date, across the nation violent crime numbers are down significantly.

Then there’s the flawed presumption by Biden that the only way any city could possibly avoid having to fire public safety officers is by stuffing its coffers with sacks full of federal largess. It’s a classic tactic that liberals love to employ when looking to raise taxes: put programs and services that resonate loudest with the public – police, teachers, firefighters – on the chopping block.

It’s a default position that desperate politicians latch onto without regard to facts or reality, when their own policies and practices have failed miserably. You know, kind of like the administration currently occupying the White House.
