In Local GovCo We Trust
At least according to Gallup, which found in a recent poll that “two-thirds of Americans have a great deal or fair amount of confidence in their local governments to handle local problems, and a solid majority the same way about their state government.”
So how do those confidence and trust numbers hold up for Char-Meck governance, I mean aside from little things like streetcars to nowhere; excessively high tax rates; double-digit unemployment; a giant log flume ride bleeding red ink; covert payouts to county leaders who miserably failed their jobs; a racing museum built on wholly fabricated attendance projections; elected officials accused of harassment and an uptown lunch bunch and tourism booster club that puts the Gambinos to shame.
