McCrory Clarifies Dog’s Name
In a newly released campaign video for his not-yet-a-campaign gubernatorial campaign, former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory announced he wouldn’t be making an announcement until next year to announce his candidacy for governor. The non-announcement announcement has something to do with campaigns being too long and expensive, from what I could gather.
This from a man who hasn’t stopped running for public office since he emerged from the womb with a campaign button in one hand and a voter palm card in the other.
Meanwhile, when he’s not staying busy telling everyone that he won’t be telling anyone until next year that he’s running for governor, McCrory has been crisscrossing the state on a full-tilt non-campaign campaign, whenever he can shake free from his job with a high-powered, uptown-connected law firm where he does, um, something.
The dog bit closes out the video, clarifying a previous howler where McCrory told folks, again, that he wasn’t telling anybody that he was ready to announce a gubernatorial bid, but his new pet dog – Bo or Mo, depending on how badly he garbled the name – was ready (wink, wink, ahh shucks) for a move to Raleigh.
