Pendergraph Nabs Myrick Endorsement
Not sure how much weight it’ll have with fiscal conservatives, given Sue Myrick’s voting record of late, but it probably can’t hurt in the highly crowded and competitive GOP primary for the 9th Congressional District. Here’s the email Myrick sent out to her “dear friends”:
Dear Friends,
Thanks for the support that you have given me all the years I have served and represented you in Congress. I know you care about good government and defending our American way of life. You want to be sure your representative shares your values and concerns. Since I am not running again, I, like you, would like to see someone serving the 9th District who truly cares about the people.
I believe Jim Pendergraph is that person. Jim was raised on a farm right here in the district. I know his integrity, and we see eye-to-eye on all the issues. He knows the heartbeat of the average person – because he is one of us.
I have worked with Jim in his various roles over the 25 years while I served on City Council, as Mayor of Charlotte and in Congress. He has spent his entire life serving others – first in the military police, then through the ranks with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police attaining the rank of Deputy Chief and as our Mecklenburg County Sheriff, where he managed 1300 people and a budget of $110 million. Jim then went to DC where he oversaw the 287(g) immigration program, as the first Executive Director of State and Local Operations for ICE with the Department of Homeland Security. He understands how the federal bureaucracy works, and how they try to stonewall Congress.
Jim is a true conservative, and I am confident he will serve the people of the 9th District very well.
