Foxx Spinning For Obama
In advance of Mitt Romney’s visit to Charlotte today, the local Democrat party, via Mayor Anthony Foxx, pens an op-ed for the uptown paper that argues Obama “has put America, North Carolina and Charlotte back on track.”
Fair enough, assuming the track is headed in the same direction as Foxx’s multi-million dollar Faux Streetcar To Nowhere, replete with tax hikes and increased government spending.
In any case, Foxx ends his homage to The One with predictably glowing praise, shining as slick as a patch of ice that sends you tumbling and leaves you hurting:
While there is still much work to be done, President Obama deserves credit for recognizing that we have to build a lasting recovery by investing in our future and ensuring that everyone gets a fair shot. North Carolina voters put their faith in President Obama four years ago and he’s gotten us through some tough times. Our unemployment rate is falling, jobs are returning to our city and state, and we’re making targeted investments that are putting the economy on sound footing for future generations. In November, North Carolina should reward President Obama with four more years to finish the job.
That’s certainly one take on Obama’s tenure. Here’s another:
Foxx argues North Carolina “should reward President Obama with four more years to finish the job.” Which is exactly the problem, as the job he wants to finish – from socialized healthcare and perpetual deficit spending to higher tax burdens, an expanded welfare state and further loss of liberty – will leave America far worse than it is today.
