Romney Trips Over Taxes
Mitt Romney is an incredibly wealthy man and I am very happy for him. He certainly got a bit of a head start, coming as he did from a wealthy family, but Romney went out and earned the bulk of his millions on his own. I know that Romney is going to be continually portrayed as the evil money man. Team Obama will continue with their ugly class warfare and will do everything possible to paint Romney as a twisted fusion of Mister Potter from “It’s A Wonderful Life” and Gordon Gekko from “Wall Street.”
Romney does not need to be ashamed of his success; he needs to embrace it and use it as a bully pulpit to encourage even more Americans to strive for the same level of success. But instead of releasing his 2011 tax returns this week as he had promised to do, he now has filed for an extension. We don’t know the reason for the delay, but it once again looks like Romney is trying to hide something.
Two steps forward, one step back.
