McCrory Up By The Three Buckets
Running with the hoops sports analogy, the latest from Public Policy Polling has former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory up three buckets – six points, 46-40 – over Democrat Walter Dalton in the race for governor.
I’ve long held that this election isn’t for Democrats to win, but rather for McCrory to lose. Thought the same thing last time, when he ended up blowing it against an opponent with the debating skills, intellect, and public appeal of a box of hair.
McCrory has essentially been campaigning for the last four years, has amassed a campaign war chest that tops $3 million, is running against an opponent tied to the hip of a hugely unpopular incumbent and facing a state Democrat party that is in complete shambles and has devolved into a national embarrassment.
And he holds a 6-point lead? In a poll that has a +/-3.8% MOE?
