The Best Voter Lists Available

Robocall Reflux

|

So after making a scouting loop of some precincts this morning – fairly moderate to decent turnout at the ones I hit – I returned to the homestead around noonish to find my answering machine lit up with 14 recordings from various campaigns delivering last-minute pitches, everything from candidates having their – pick one – spouse, kid or grandkid deliver the pitch to some other politician doing the same. The ones from this morning were on top of the half-dozen or so I got last night and the too-many-to-count I’ve received over the last week.

I’ve never seen any studies on the effectiveness of robocalls, but judging from conversations I’ve had over the years with voters, the reaction most folks have ranges from indifference to outright hostility. After the last two weeks, I’m leaning toward the latter.

Any other robo horror stories from the primary?
