Great Scott! Recall Rebuffed
Ich bien ein cheesehead! Today we are all cheeseheads!
While there is no reason to gloat there’s a lot of celebrating to do regarding the election results from Wisconsin, where Republican Governor Scott Walker beat back a recall election orchestrated by uber leftist political operatives and assorted union hacks determined to upend the results of his election as governor of the Badger State. They hated him because he dared to say publicly what most people have thought privately for a long time, which grows from the simple observation, “hey we don’t have money for that.”
Seriously, that is the basis of all of Walker’s actions since his election. He has simply been an honest steward of the public checkbook. Nothing more and nothing less. Like any responsible parent. he said to the children, “I know you want that but we can’t afford it.” Underworked overpaid public employees were outraged that they would have to pony up a couple of bucks for their own healthcare and pensions, just like the rest of us do everyday out here in the dreaded private sector.
A majority of Wisconsin voters proved them wrong, and for all of the right reasons.
