Hug Your Kids Today
You should hug your kids every day, but it takes on particular import in the aftermath of a tragedy like the one that unfolded today in Connecticut.
Simply horrific:
NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut/AP) — CBS News is reporting that at least 27 people are dead, including 18 students, after a mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. The gunman is among the dead.
CBS News reports the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Ryan Lanza, was the son of a female teacher at the school who was killed in the mass shooting. New Jersey State Police have Lanza’s younger brother in custody in Hoboken, according to WCBS-TV.
Lanza apparently targeted his mother’s classroom, where most of the shooting occurred, according to CBS News.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims, as well as the Connecticut community as a whole.
UPDATE: the shooter apparently has been identified as Adam Lanza, 20, not his brother, Ryan, as originally reported.
Shameful: it’s taken MSNBC and Muppet Whisperer Martin Bashir less than an hour to politicize the tragedy and turn it into an all-out table thumper on gun control.
