A Trojan Horse For CMS
Remember a few years back when the Board of Education approved a new anti-bullying policy for CMS, when Larry Gauvreau and Kaye McGarry voted against it because they said it was being used as a way to gain a foothold for promoting and advancing a pro-homosexual agenda in classrooms.
Gauvreau and McGarry were lambasted as brain-dead homophobes and lampooned as paranoid loons.
Schools trying to promote homosexuality using an anti-bullying policy designed to protect children? You’d have to be a certified conspiracy-freak to actually believe such nonsense, right?
Um, wrong; at least according to Obama Administration Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings.
Now recall that a main operational leg of CMS’ anti-bullying policy begins with the Aspire, Connect and Transform (ACT) program, with its curriculum developed by the Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice, a group that, among other activities, helps form Gay-Straight Alliance clubs on CMS campuses.
And recall that the Coalition for Social Justice received funding to help develop the district’s anti-bullying curriculum from The Wesley Mancini Foundation, a group that “provides funding for projects that promote the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals as full participants in the Charlotte community.”
Yep, that Gauvreau character was a real paranoid nut-case, thinking that a school district’s anti-bullying policy was some sort of Trojan Horse for promoting a pro-homosexual agenda.
