Media Matters Grasping For Straws
You know liberals are on the run when the MSM picks up on any and every gaffe by conservative candidates, using words as weapons to paint them as nut jobs; that’s expected, par-for-the-course politics. But the latest O’Donnell bashing from the ultra-leftist Media Matters is a stretch.
This from POLITICO:
The trickle of media hits featuring embarrassing quotes from Christine O’Donnell continued Thursday with the release of statements from 2002 and 2006 that condoms are “anti-human” and “will not protect you from AIDS.”
Both quotes were dug up by the liberal Media Matters and will help Democrats feed a narrative against O’Donnell, the surprise winner of the Republican nomination for Delaware’s Senate seat.
Not to get too picky with things like facts, but let’s unpack those two snippets and put them in context. By definition, condoms are “anti-human,” designed primarily to prevent pregnancies. How much more “anti-human” can you get? I mean aside from killing babies in their mothers’ wombs, the anti-human practice of which I’m certain that outfits like Media Matters fully endorse.
Then there’s O’Donnell’s assertion that condoms “will not protect you from AIDS.” Of course they won’t, not 100 percent. They’ll significantly improve your odds of not contracting the disease, but condoms don’t provide 100 percent protection from any STD. That’s why crazy conservatives – you know, the ones like O’Donnell – favor abstinence and monogamous relationships as the best way to prevent the spread of STDs.
So here we have two rational statements from a conservative tea party candidate, tagged and promoted as the delusional ramblings of an utter fool. Yep, the left is on the run.
