CharMeck Reactions To OBL News

|

Some quick takes from the local front on news of Osama bin Laden’s death. First up, Mecklenburg Commissioner Bill James, opining on the burial at sea:

I am glad they got the scumbag. News reports say that Obama allowed Osama to get an ‘Islamic burial’. If true that is a big mistake.

Osama should not have been allowed to have a burial that followed ‘Islamic practice and tradition’ so he can get his ’40 virgins’.

The body should have been put on public display – disrespected – defecated on – urinated on (all on video) and then thrown into a pig pen for consumption by ‘unclean’ animals.

Then they could dump his sorry carcass into the sea …. unwashed, unclean heading to the Hell he justly deserves.  In short, if Osama wanted an Islamic burial we should have given him the opposite and in public denying him his devout last wishes.

As it is – media reports say we gave him an ‘Islamic’ burial  so he can collect his 40 virgins in paradise. Now these nut jobs know that even if they die and are caught the US will still give them the proper Islamic burial they want.

This is the kind of politically correct dogma designed to placate a group of crazies whose ultimate goal is paradise in the next life.

If a certain religious burial is what Osama wants when dead – that is exactly what we should not have given him. Of course, the reports could be wrong but that is what is being mentioned.

And then this from Jibril Hough of the Islamic Center of Charlotte, during an interview with Fox Charlotte:

“Our president said last night that Osama bin Laden was not a Muslim leader. I think that small statement says a lot. It may have went over the heads of many Americans, but if they didn’t I hope they would replay the tape, because he was not a Muslim leader. He didn’t represent me; he didn’t represent any Muslims that I know, and he didn’t represent my faith.”

And then we have Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools getting into the act, rounding up students for a hastily called presser scheduled for today at the Military and Global Leadership Academy at Marie G. Davisto discuss OBL’s death. From the CMS media release:

Opportunity to speak with JROTC juniors and seniors on current events regarding Osama bin Laden. A group of students who were part of the World Affairs Council visit will also participate. Just last Thursday, these students hosted and had a discussion with Michael Scheuer, chief of the CIA’s bin Laden unit from 1996 to 1999, a counterterrorism analyst until 2004 and author of several books, including “Osama bin Laden.”
