Day of Disgrace

|

The Occupy Wall Street movement had billed it as a Day of Action, marking the two-month anniversary of the movement, but it turned into a day of disgust and disgrace. Honestly, what possible positive argument can be made for terrorizing schoolchildren as a means of legitimate protest?

They were caught in the middle of madness.

Some grade school students were forced to walk a gauntlet of screaming “Occupy Wall Street” protesters just to get to school on Thursday.

In the middle of thousands of protestors yelling and chanting — some kicking and screaming – CBS 2’s Emily Smith found little school kids trying to get to class. Nervous parents led them through the barriers on Wall Street. The NYPD helped funnel the children, anything to ease their fears while some protestors chanted “follow those kids!”

“These guys are terrorists, yelling at little kids,” one father said.

“For them it’s horrible. They’re afraid of all the crowds. We’re not even able to get through. They’re just, he’s … very afraid now,” a mother added.

Consider this, along with scores of other overtly offensive and in many cases outright criminal acts, as drawing one step closer to the tipping point where public sentiment turns demonstrably against occupiers.

A possible avoidance of hitting that mark could materialize in one of two ways: via a complicit mainstream media that refuses to actually cover OWS crimes and outrages, allowing them to fly under the radar of the public at-large; or when and if OWS can start policing itself and oust the openly socialist, freeloader, squatter, criminal element from its so-called 99%.

The problem, as it’s becoming more and more evident to anyone paying attention, is that a bulk of the OWS movement does not, by any stretch, include the 99% of the general populace they claim to represent.

Don’t believe me? Check out this list compiled by the ever-vigilant Verum Serum of OWS crimes from across the country, and try not to cringe when you think about DNC 2012 rolling into the Queen City:

Quick show of hands: how many of you are sick of government corruption and the corporate cronyism it fosters, and demonstrate it by terrorizing schoolchildren, defecating in public, pillaging, stealing and raping, destroying small, family-owned businesses, and dealing/dropping drugs while camping out in filth and squalor for weeks on end?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.
